Why me

August 18, 2014

Not only do I suffer the most

Not only do I laugh less and les everyday

Not only have I moved from coast to coast

Not only have gone a stray

But really will I conquer the world

But really will I be someone who matters

But really can I be that easily twirled

But really can I be pressured to splatter

Oh yes that was my identity

Oh yes that's I who gave a damn

Oh no I can't get back that serenity

Oh no I can't recover from this sham

Why me?

Why do I fall even when I'm rising

Why do I feel so uncompromising

Why can't I just go with the flow

Why be someone you acknowledge when I myself don't know

Why me?

Thats's right! Because nothing good ever happens to me

Thats's right! Because I can't see past the people in my life who shouldn't be

That's right! Thats's right! Thats's right!

My emotions are flying now, gone with the wind

Can I recover my true self, from deep within

Or will I crash and burn just at the turn of thick and thin

Can it be me?

Or am I dreaming?

Living in a world that's so demeaning

It hurts to walk the streets when your feet are oily specks and the sidewalk is leaning

Can it be me?

Or can I just be ill?

Not able to look away and fight my own will

Can't eat, can't sleep, but a sufficient dose of each is a pill

It can be... I guess....
