Breaking B

September 7, 2013

Seconds feel like hours.
And weeks have turned to years.
I can barely recall my life.
It's just a story filled with tears.

   Born to a simple woman.
My sire and invisible man.
I was not supposed to live.
But it's my body and I can!

   I've been bought,
And I've been taken.
All eight tried to break me.
But I have not been shaken.

   Words have cut me,
Your actions are my bruises.
Pain is etched on my skin,
But it's my soul that looses.

I'm not sure how much more,
My tired body can take.
I can only be strong for so long,
And my smile is already fake.

   The tears on my face,
Are the "glow" that you see.
   There all you'll ever get.
Because there all that's left of me.

   Are you happy now?
As I lie here on the floor?
   That's right. Kick me again.
Now walk away, and close the door.

   The beat in my chest,
Has started to fade.
   I'm trying, but I can't!
This is NOT how I was made....

   Beat..Beat......beat.
My heart has heaved it's last.
   Is my life already over?
But I'm so young...it went so fast...

Will you haunt me now in my cell?
Or will I walk the streets of gold?
Please tell me now! I feel so alone...
Please someone! Grab hold!

   I'm safe. I'm really free...
Beat beat, beat beat. The steady beat of wings.
My body is full and healed.
And my soul finally sings...
