Burn the White Flag

February 3, 2015

How can it be that there are millions of books and texts filled with words and phrases but none of them fit what I'm trying to say.
We go to school for twenty plus years and for some of us that's a third of our lives but it all amounts to shit at the end of the day.
Hell who am I kidding some people make it work and to them I say:
how's the view down there from your knees?
I don't want to live the American dream I want to live my dream
is that okay with everyone please?
Please
who am I kidding
of course it is
Well at least what you say to my face.
But I see underneath.
I see you pretend to raise me up when actually pushing me down
Well I'm going to stand my ground.
I'm going to kick and scream
And the more you try to ground me
The harder ill push to fly
Or maybe just die trying
The point is
No im not okay
