I Didn't Realize

March 14, 2016

She didn't care for me,

my mother did not.

I wasn't enough to be considered,

wasn't worthy of her time.

I didn't realize how my mother,

really did love me,

grew with hatred for her,

ate away my childhood.

So I grew up,

and I did the same for my daughter.

Ignored and tore her down,

just like how I thought my mother did.

I didn't realize at the time,

and I can't go back,

I sit here in despair,

watching my destroyed daughter and mother.
