Cigarettes

September 18, 2018

Burning in the back of your throat

The smoke entering your lungs

Is a small price to pay

For the clarity

For the bliss

Like fog being lifted

The addiction

The pain

It catches up eventually

Through cancer

Or death

But the future isn’t so scary

With nicotine holding your hand
