If you don't learn to write your own story, someone else will write it for you

11 poems·Since July 2013

This is basically where I stock my poetry online. I enjoy poetry, as it seems. Stylistically, I look up to William Carlos Williams and try to apply some sort of pseudo-imagism to my writing, though I'm never consistent and enjoy trying out different styles.

Under the Old Willow Tree

July 30, 2013

Under the old willow tree
We held hands with naïvety
Shared secrets in the shade
Walked away, a relationship made

Under the old willow tree
We kissed, embraced, so passionately
Lay ablaze in each others arms
Feeling safe, away from harms

Under the old willow tree
We made love, so feverishly
Our beings combined, our love became one
We'd be together 'til our lives are done

Under the old willow tree
You vowed to remain with me
Sealed our union with a kiss
Nothing could ever be remiss

Under the old willow tree
We sat with our daughter, gleefully
On a blanket we sat amiably
A picnic shared as a family

Under the old willow tree
Our girl married her fiancé
"Oh, they grow up so fast"
Memories made become memories past

Under the old willow tree
Your lifeless body lay before me
It was hard to say goodbye
You weren't the only one that died

Under the old willow tree
I sat alone, for eternity
Longing to once more see you
If only that wish could just come true
