Chesne Wisdom

If you don't learn to write your own story, someone else will write it for you

23 poems·Since December 2016

I'm a seventeen-year-old senior. I love to read and write poetry. I write a lot when I'm frustrated and I just want people to understand and/or accept me. I'm rather different to people because I have Asperger's Syndrome. I like to stand out and I'm proud of who I've fought to become. I hope to one day be teacher, but I don't know what subject I'll teach.

Confusing People

December 1, 2016

People make me nervous.
I don't know what to say.
There are so many ways that I can reply
That my thoughts lead me astray.

What does that joke mean?
It's a common thought to me.
I don't know if something is sarcasm
Or if it is meant to be mean.

I know that person is feeling sad,
But what am I supposed to do?
I don't know how to cheer them up,
But I really wish I knew.

People are complicated
With all of their different layers.
Perhaps someday I'll understand,
And I'll see the truth of theirs.
