Chesne Wisdom

If you don't learn to write your own story, someone else will write it for you

23 poems·Since December 2016

I'm a seventeen-year-old senior. I love to read and write poetry. I write a lot when I'm frustrated and I just want people to understand and/or accept me. I'm rather different to people because I have Asperger's Syndrome. I like to stand out and I'm proud of who I've fought to become. I hope to one day be teacher, but I don't know what subject I'll teach.

I Survived

December 1, 2016

I am still alive,

And that’s saying something for me.

I worked through the tears

And it was not all for nothing.

So why do people complain

When I say that with pride?

I worked so hard

When others never tried.

The world was a mess,

So full of confusion and full of stress.

I made it out with my mind,

Know that I did survive.

I survived the emotions

That others never felt.

I was all alone,

There was no one else.

I survived the crashes

That brought me down to tears.

They bring back the pain

Of all my former years.

I accepted that life would be rough

When I could have given up.

I fought to be myself

With the help of no one else.

I made it.

I am alive.

Through the depression

I did survive.
