A list

November 8, 2013

Background music

The room you never notice

The dusty fan in the garage

That last step kids always jump over

The numbers on an old clock

Change that has been lost

A beach in the winter

A jacket in the summer

Shoes that no longer fit

A girl who has lost her wit

Feathers fallen from a bird

Shattered mirrors

The last bit of chap stick

Sleep on finals week

Dirt washed away from under nails

An itch that was scratched

Allergies that don’t come back

17 year old inhalers

Spaghetti 9 days old

Sharpeners

Bobby pins

Hands left unheld

Teeth that fell out

Ears stretched to wide

Surface of gritted teeth

Boy who cannot sleep

All of these in common with one thing

I shall not tell, but the answer is easy
