The Cycle of the Day

November 17, 2018

The daybreak sun shines cold through the cloud

A mere shift in wind is all it will take

Above that bright golden orb shines proud

And below the frozen ground begins to bake.

The frost rises as steam forming a gentle mist

Nearby lies a frozen stream, ice cracking in the sun

And as it starts to flow away, they know it will not be missed

Many things will happen; it is clear that the day has begun.

The day is over; the flowers fold and the trees sleep.

A gentle cold chills the bone; a weary sigh from the flowing creek.

As this all happens,  you see it and begin to weep,

“Is this the fate of all things? Is life really this weak?”

While life is always held in wavering light

Remember that naught can come without the night.
