Why do you write?

A question such as this was once asked to me, I simply said it made me free. The questioner said, "Well, so does reading!" to which I respond, "But I have a greater needing." "And that would be?" the questioner asked. "To create a freedom that will ever-last." He frowned and stated, "I don't think there are many like you." I smiled and recited a short Haiku. "All around the both of us, A poet spins a tale of freedom, To numb the pain of normal."
