Raindrops

April 11, 2013
The world is stained yellow and gray The setting sun colors everything yellow from behind the clouds The rainclouds rim the sky, a dark backdrop to a sepia world The wind picks up and brings the scent of rain Everything from the clouds that move across the sky to the insect that crawls laboriously up a wall feels far away Nothing but the wind can be heard, the serenity of it all washing over like a wave Darker clouds move across the sun, casting gray shadows That stretch across the landscape and feel like the oncoming of the night The storm approaches and all hold their breath As the first raindrops break the spell and the dream is lost
