Smiling On The Outside

July 20, 2017

I am nothing this voice says

I am no value, I'm weak I can't even stand

Trusting no one is my issue, maybe because when people say I love you its just so misused.

No high calling, no 4.0 how can I make anything out nothing, I don't know?

Same empty feeling with someone by my side feels like I'm drowning with lifeguard watching on the side.

I try to let my fate glide but my self-esteem is eating my pride.

I can't count how many times Ive wanted to cry

Figuring out that everything is an evil lie

I'm trying to focus on what is mine, trying to please others while I walk the line.

I try to explain how I feel but they think I'm being unreal and this is just how I should feel.

I don't want attention, I just need help, I need to breathe. I need encouraged or just a little hope.

The feeling so strong choking me with rope.

Praying that I can pull myself together and just cope.

My heart is singing with ever sad note, I wish I didn't feel like I'm on some kind of dope.

Always being crooked or on a downwards slope.

I'm trying to heal for myself, singing and trying to rejoice.

Why am I always someone's second choice?

I sing cause I'm just trying to find my right voice.

I want to close out all the hurting noise.

Standing straight and neatly dressed, poised.

Smiling thru anger and crying in my own empty shell.

I'm finished with trying, covering everything up as well.

I have nothing to bring, nothing to sell.

Tired of throwing unlucky pennies in a dried up well.

My walls are so thick and tall might as well stay inside.

I don't want to bring anyone down or make them fall to the ground.

My emotions are small but If I speak I might just tell them all.

Scared of trusting in someone that is unable to love.

Like an elevator with a thin metal cable hanging from above.

Could fall at anytime, I feel so unstable.

Pressing buttons to get on a floor

but I'm stuck on this elevator crying against the door.

Beating the cold tile floor, I want to be free.

Everyone is walking around in their own speed, no one has time to look or even reach for me.
