If you don't learn to write your own story, someone else will write it for you

You are one in a million. That means there are 320 of you in the U.S. Find yourself. Create an army. Overthrow the government of a small midwestern town. Hi... I am a spoken word poet and that is the format the majority of my work will be. Some of these are work from the heart and some I did for school. I am a actor, a horseback rider, a sister, a member of the LGBT+ community, and an extreme introvert. I love kids, Netflix, video games, my pets, and I suck at every language I try other than Latin. (weird I know) I'm a Pisces on the Aires cusp. I act a whole lot like it too.

My nine yr old brother made fun of depression today
He was saying
Oh I'm depressed boo who who
Just because he thought it was a joke
Because the people in his school were saying it
He's in third grade

Not understanding that when it gets really bad
It can push someone to the brink of suicide

When the Ebola crisis was occurring I heard people making fun of others
They would say
Oh they have Ebola
Or
Run away you'll get Ebola
To make fun of others
I heard first graders saying shit like that too

When people were first started to be accepted for being gay or lesbian
I heard people using it as a joke to make fun of others
Just so they could
In middle school I had a gay friend who was so afraid to tell anyone
He took two years to tell his closest friends
In fear
Of being ridiculed

My cousin cannot walk
Or talk
Because he had a piece of his brain
Cut out
So his seizures would stop
But I see people made fun of conditions like that all the time

Or people with anxiety

Made fun of for panic attacks in public

Or not being able to sit on the bus

Go to a store

Talk to a friend

It makes me sad

Just how many people suffer from conditions

Or are ridiculed just because of their sexuality
Or have serious diseases
That are used for jokes for the entertainment of others
So wait for a minute
Step into their shoes and think
Would I like to be made fun of
For this
That is just something I needed to say
