Roaring Emotions

Crashing over me.

White foam of

Joy

Salty Sea of

Sadness

Conflicted.

Lost.

Raging wind of

Goodbyes

I’m too sad

Yet too glad

And it’s too bad

That it’s ending

When I want it

To continue.

Flowing forth

And then

Receding

Sometimes happy

Sometimes just

Lonely.

Farewell to the friends

That say “keep in touch”

But you know

You probably won’t.

Smile at those

Whom you didn’t really

Connect with.

And hug those

Who will remain by your side.

Ah, the pain:

It clings

And then lets go.

Aching

Shaking

Breaking.

And then taking

The paper

That sets us

Free.

Caps off

To us

White gowns

Of glory.

We’re moving on

With G-d

By our side

And memories

To console

And friends

To show

That we’re never

Alone.

Yes, we’re moving on

Into the horizon

With the sea below

The sky overhead

And love in our

Hearts.
