There's a crack

November 25, 2014

There's a crack in my curtains

Where someone could see

So I pull them tight together

Hope they stay shut behind me.

A draft tickles my feet out of between the curtain and the floor

Wind from the room no one sees.

Things slip out.

Jokes that hide I'm weary

The things about me people can't know

Things coming from the curtained room in me

Like how I may point at a trash can and call it my twin

Because the truth is that this curtain of me

Is guarding suffocating insecurity.
