I write because I can -

There's no rhyme or reason

To my madness.

I put my pen to the paper

When I need

To let go of my sadness.

I write because I can -

This is for no one else

But me.

Writing this poem

Is helping me feel

A little bit more free.

I write because I can -

Whether you like it

Or not.

If I could not write my poems

I would constantly feel

Distraught.

I write because I need to -

It's how I keep

Myself sane.

If I couldn't write

I would go a little bit
