The Wrong Call
The Wrong Call
Destroyer of walls,
My hammer is in the hidden hall,
Where nightmares lurk
Bending my heart, but not breaking,
So that I can feel the pain.
They wear smiles, your friends;
Only smiles worn by my fiends.
Do not call them out,
Nor release them from the hidden hall.
Destroyer of walls,
My hammer is in the hidden hall.
Do your mission, do it fast.
For your nature shows no mercy.
Do not mind these marks on my face,
But don’t destroy at a slow pace.
For the nightmares have broken free,
Bending my heart, but not breaking,
So that I may feel the pain.
Destroyer of walls!
My hammer is in the hidden hall!
Do your mission, do it fast!
Break my walls, take them away!
Destroy! Destroy! Destroy!
My wall, it crumbles.
My wall, it breaks.
My wall, it fades.
Destroyer of walls,
What have you done to my hidden hall?!
You have released the nightmares!
You have released my fiends!
Where is my lighted beam?
Has he too gone away with my dreams?
Destroyer of walls,
Why did I call?
Destroyer of walls,
I have made the wrong call!
My light beam,
He has gone with my dreams.
Alas! How faulty am I
Even my nightmares cry,
But not the cry of tears.
The cry of mockery and laughter.
My lighted beam I have atrophied.
My walls I have atrophied.
My only life I have atrophied.
My dreams I have atrophied.
Destroyer of walls,
My hammer is in the hidden hall.
Release the nightmares;
Finish the work you began.
