You

November 8, 2016

My Princess

My love

That’s a bit insulting if you ask me

Everyone uses those terms

They’re cliches that are overused

They’re the new iPhone

They’re Uggs

They’re saying LOL instead of just saying “Sorry Stacy, you’re not funny”

But you

You’re not everyone

And you’re definitely not a cliche

You…. are…..

You’re joy

Pure joy

A joy so pure that all you have to do is smile and people are instantly infected with happiness

Like Medusa's better sister, you turn people into light

You’re a song that gets stuck in my head and I can’t stop listening to it

You are my definition of the word perfection

Your glasses, your hair, your eyes,

Everything

You are the first person I’ve met to make me understand how home can be a person and not a place

In my dictionary next to the word beauty there is a picture of you

But not just for the how you look on the outside

But everyting you are within yourself

You bleed passion, self respect, and determination

Your intelligence is intoxicating

Never have I met someone who makes me want to learn

Simply to just have more knowledge than I did before

You say I love you

my heart swells

so much that it’s about to burst inside my chest

You hug me as if to compress it back down to its original form

We stand embracing each other until one of us decides to let go

My arms begin to unwrap themselves

at the same time tracing your waistline as I let go so I'll remember how you feel when you’re gone

You put me at a loss for words

I look at you and I feel like I’m walking into Disney World

Like I’m a kid in a candy store

I look at you and wonder why people need drugs to get high

You are my high

A high that never ends

A high that makes me feel invincible

Like I’m the luckiest person in the world

People dream their whole life to have this feeling

To find that person that makes them feel like every broken heart was worth it

That person that shows you that Billy not asking you to homecoming really wasn’t the end of the world

You are my person

My home

My cup of tea

You….. are….

joy
