He kept screaming

I see you

but the only thing I saw

was him in my rear view.

even a thousand miles away

and his voice is as loud as it was

when he was getting smaller

and the GPS did what it does.

we were a story that never gets told

someone in the rain with roses

or someone on a knee defeated

because he's rejected as he proposes.

the high way is even longer

in the middle of the night

because my doubts become demons

that I can't fight

everything is gone.

only memories are left where people used to be

but they've changed

but from my chains I am not free.

once someone who wanted to fly to the moon

im now the one afraid of her own shadow

who used to chase her dreams

but now only fantasizes about the gold at the end of the rainbow.

A toxic town with soulless people

full of grape vines with not a bit of truth.

is a graveyard for the past

where the ghosts play the part of a sleuth.

Hold your breath

for it'll all blow away in the breeze

but once the snow falls

the empty shell will freeze.
