Vice

February 19, 2017

Do not let men,

or women, or children

whose hands, ungloved,

in their fairest form,

who seem to be as pure

as our most gorgeous

rubies, yet are cloaked

with blood and hate

and ghost-like hoods,

attempt to serenade

you.

Attempting to

express your beauty

while blankly gazing

into eyes that seem

like little to nothing

to them. They’ll

call you a nigger, or

porch monkey, or coon,

or honkey, or cracker,

or hill-billy, or whatever

else may make you

seem smaller than them.

All these terms,

labels, names, sayings,

derogatory statements are

nothing more than simple

ignorant vice, or folly

of individuals who feel

more attached to

themselves than anything

else in this world.

They attach their parents

virtues to themselves

and pursue their lives

with elderly wrinkles

in their cognitive

processing.

They

feel alone and can’t

handle the thought of

it being because they

are horrible people,

who can’t realize

race, ethnicity, religion,

skine tone don’t make

a person less, or more,

or anything in between.

All it does for others

is destroy, humiliate,

intimidate, confuse.

Your behavior does nothing.

I’m moving on with the world

striding past every hateful

comment with a quick

‘I ain’t no nigger,

I ain’t no honky

I am like you,

but I am me

I have a different

set of interests,

that is all.

I ain’t no coon

I ain’t no cracker.

I am none of these

terms, labels, names, sayings,

derogatory statements.

I am simply put here

to be who I am.
