Jenna A.

If you don't learn to write your own story, someone else will write it for you

7 poems·Since January 2015

Hi, I'm Jenna! I've been writing poetry ever since I was a little girl. Writing has always been my favorite way of communicating with others. Besides poetry, I also write nonfiction and fiction works. My other hobbies include playing soccer and softball for my high school. I'm kind of an adrenaline junky, too. I love going on adventures. I intend to travel and write for most of my life, and I hope I can make some sort of difference in the world, no matter how small.

Sleepless

January 25, 2015
Down the stairs she crept
Sinking into the darkest of depths
Another dreamless night
Wishing her battles were worth the fight
And the tears pool there as she lays
They don't know she's not okay
When's the last time she's slept
When's the last night she hasn't wept
Sadness is her addiction
Alone to face her afflictions
Don't hand her the knife
Those eyes draining of life
Trust fading after all this time
She's dying and nobody minds
Darkness is her only friend
Knowing it will always be there in the end
