The Pen

October 6, 2016
At first I was a stone held in the hand of a tribesman
used to record incantations made by their wisemen
I've writ tales, been held, by a slave in Israel
Felt the sweat on their palm as it wetted my thick shell
once revolution took place, my precursors sprouted wings
a tall white feather and you plunge their head in ink
I write for Mozart he holds me tight to create music
We produced a beautiful piece of passion thats moving
wrote symphonies, without me, there would be no history
I work for vivid imagery and no one can mimic me
im the missing piece to your rhyme pad
I've been held in Hitler's right hand
His often dead eyes cried as he wrote Mein Kampf
I sealed the deal that handed over the Rhineland
Take me in your hand and let me lead you like a blind man
I jotted down the final thoughts of a man that ended himself
Before he did it, wrote a letter and had it left the shelf
They picked up the paper and read 'why didn't anyone help?'
Thats me, Ive written tales of a thousand fools
Cause I'm the pen, the world's most powerful tool
