Thundering
February 5, 2020
Ima make you remember that cold winter in December
Self asteem was like a human being that your betryal dismembered.
A pawn in this chess game that you call a gang but this was family to me and it defined my name.
Mind working like short circuits cuz ignorance is bliss
Agression ran my adolescents I kissed the gun barrel on the lips.
Had to get beat to get called legit.
Left my clothes in tatters and rips.
Columbia's finest in the ecosystem left my critical judgment stripped.
Red and blue flags, tats and durags with gunshots in the distance
Scars of the warrior his knuckles got blisters.
And a bullet to the shoulder that felt like the cowboys brand when the devil kissed it.
A life so viscous.
Looking to quinch his blood thirst and street violence did it.
Or maybe it didnt.
Thoughts scream at night when the mind goes a-drift
Tears hot like the flame from the lighter that burned the spliff.
I'm always wondering.
How I made it through the rain and it's still thundering.
