The Kid

April 19, 2018

Vividly dim

My eyes do fail

Today is the day

That I quit my wails

And end this torture

That is life absent her

I’m sorry

I wish it were what it was

but life will do what it does

For you see meaning in the chaos

Where I am at a pathetic loss

I’m sorry

I can’t go on

at least not for long

Without your hands to caress

And your flowing hair in a mess

As you breath on my neck

And clench my chest

My life feels like a hopeless wreck

Perhaps I just need to rest

I’m sorry

Forward moving we shall be

You will live on without me,

separate lives,

In different directions we will strive

Yet you will be a cherished memory

I only regret not treating you more gently

I’m sorry.
