He Was

March 5, 2015

I close my eyes and all I see is hate

For in my heart there is no love to see

There is no way to escape from my fate

This dreadful day will be the end of me

When he come along I saw the li-ight

I thought there would be hope for me that day

I looked into his eyes and saw no fright

E'en though he'd not let me alone to pay

He took my place to pay for all my wrong

He could not listen to me cry and moan

For he could not make himself stay so strong

Saving me from hell leaves me so alone

I close my eyes and all I see is hate

He was the one to save me from my fate
