Dear Self

January 22, 2018

Dear Self,

Where have you been?

Once I found you then you’re lost again

Big brother Jay

Son of few words

Very little to say

The kid with so many dreams

But facing opposition every day.

Self, where were you when I took that fall?

That kid who plays ball

So many goals and hopes to achieve them all

Remember he’s fast on the track

Looking forward to college, his bags he will pack

Self, where did you go?

When it’s our best we must show

I am not really sure

The things I have overcome and still endure

Big hopes and bright future in my view

Looking forward to places and experiences so new

Starting to feel lost with so much to do

Self, please come back

Because now I need you

Trying to push through nothing more or less

My situation right now is truly a mess

Just a person with dreams

Learning through life

That all may not be what it seems

Took a chance to send you this letter

Once you return, my life will be much better.
