Hold on

June 14, 2018

Hold on,
To the smell of old books
The sound of ocean waves crashing again and again
The beat of my heart steadying my chaotic thoughts
Break the lulls of once storming oceans
And all I have left now is a memory
A faint glimpse of the past and what used to be

Hold on,
He said to me,
Just hold on a little longer,
Him-with fiery gentleness
With calm thunderstorms
He was everything I wish I was
And everything I could not be
Nature's beauty and the universe's final gift to me
He wanted me to hold on to see what happy was like
Because although I fascinated and confounded him with everything I was
He said,
Happiness mingled in with the breath of me would make the world glow
