Doubt creeps

March 16, 2019

Training hard, working through pain

into the arena, a gladiator

fear and anxiety remain.

Victory or defeat matters not

but doubt creeps in

and two opponents emerge.

technique and skill abound

strength comes on in a surge

a match is done and won

as doubt slinks back into darkness

for a while and grows only to remerge
