If you don't learn to write your own story, someone else will write it for you

15 poems·Since December 2015

I am a writer, blogger and poet. I enjoy writing and do so when the mood strikes me. I have been known to stop what I am doing to jot down a poem. There are days when the words flow from my mind like water. I am also a parent to 3 amazing young men. I am married to an amazing man as well. We rang in the new year as newly weds. Each year we celebrate our anniversary as we close another chapter in the book of life.

Your Memory

December 18, 2015

Memories race through my mind

Drowning me in tears from so long ago

Your memory is so bitter sweet

All of the sweet nights in your arms

Followed by the painful days of being done so wrong

The scars I am left with

The wants of so much more

All I can do is sit and pretend I don’t care

Pretend like you are nothing to me

Watch your life go on with someone else by your side

I cry

Part of me dies

I am left with whispers in the dark

Being so far apart

Wanting to tell you how I really feel

Wishing these wounds would finally heal
