Darling

May 4, 2013
My darling was velvet, whispers hushed by a soft kiss. lace, wedding dress promises. tulle, sugar sweet layers of ballerina dreams. My lover was pearl, revealing sacred treasure only to the pursuer. diamond, cherished heirloom polished with vivid recollections. silver, tranquility untarnished by the passage of time. My sweetheart was apple, tangy slices of personality ripened by summer sun. mango, enticing adventures in the simmering island heat. cherry, effortlessly sensual yet as innocent as bare feet in June. u n t i l My darling became gossamer, spider web steel. chiffon, fragile pondering of an uncertain mind. gauze, sheer veils swaddling deep wounds. My lover became glass, transparent labyrinths receding into nonexistence. zirconium, feeble echoes of crystalline melody. pyrite, inner glow replaced with painted beauty. My sweetheart became lemon, sour antiseptic aroma invading dormant lungs. banana, discolored bruises pervading abandoned flesh. pineapple, wanderer longing to reach the outstretched arms of eternity. u n t i l My darling became n o t h i n g.
