Empty Rooms

October 28, 2013

What makes an artist?

Is it solely the ideas-- or the abitilty to pull it from our minds to reailty?

As I look around here

I only see desks and chairs.

I see cabinets and white broads.

This building seems to be a skeleton of an office

Infested with eager minds and bodies.

As the students scamble down the halls and cram into the elevators

I can only wonder...how...

We each spent...or are spending

About $90,000...

Yet, my classrooms have no art supplies?

My building is too small...and parking garge even smaller....

Sure, we have a student supply store...only

carrying next to nothing I actually need.

And here I stand.

Right in the thick of it.

Wondering why this school-- looked upon so highly,

Actually deserves my money

Or the privilege of molding my mind.

I knew being an artist was expensive

I just didn't know-- HOW.
