Innocent Love

September 11, 2015

Roses are red

Violets are blue

Where have you been?

I've been looking for you

You, wait you?

Who is this "you"?

That's been making me so blue

Is he tall?

Is he short?

Is he a bum?

Is he a dork?

I want to know

Tall dark and handsome

Or short bland and dreadsome

Anything but the last one

Please don't think I'm picky

I just don't want this relationship to be tricky

When you've been played like monopoly

It's pretty hard not be

Guys come and go

Doing it all for the show

Never thinking about significant others

But brothers

If it was your sister

Wouldn't you want this Mr.

To treat her like a queen

But as for me

That's what my focus will now be

On Your's truly

Because when I look back

On all this meaningless crap

I'd like to say

To my baby girl someday

You are fearfully and wonderfully made

And a real man shouldn't want you any other way.
