Pickle in a Jar

February 8, 2018

Dear past,

present,

and future

Self,

you are living

in a glass cylinder:

Society.

It warps your vision,

skews your world,

and puts a barrier

between you

and your dreams.

You are a pickle.

Some find you sweet,

others sour.

The substance

surrounding you

Is tinted.

Break free!

From the biased vision,

from the bitter juice.

Decide who you are,

what you are,

and don’t

just live

like a pickle

in a jar.
