Light

July 11, 2016

All come into the world in the same way

We spend nine months in warm darkness

Then when it is time we are cast away

Into the cold bright sharpness

Of the birthing day.

One might say a human is only born once

In the physical realm this is true

But in the plane of the mind

Rebirth is nothing new

I’ve been born and reborn numerous times

Molded and shaped by people met and things seen

Expressing myself through song and rhyme

As my inner glow began to brighter gleam

The number of my births is that of three

The first from my mother’s womb

The Second from mourning Grief

The Third from poetry,

which enlightened my mental gloom.
