Around the Clock

June 12, 2014

“Tick Tock”

Goes the clock.

The minutes can’t go by fast enough.

What do you think it means -

When you prefer to talk to her instead of me?

Do you pick on them because they’re inferior?

Or because they have everything you don’t?

Sigh…

“Tick Tock”

The minutes can never go by fast enough.

“Tock Tick”

That’s the trick

That always gets me wondering when

All this drama is going to end?

I’m sick of me being me

And you being you,

So let’s just call a truce, and be someone else for a while.

Sigh…

“Tock Tick”

There’s always a trick.

But was I foolish enough

To believe your innocent eyes

As you pulled angel’s wings off their backs?

Was I brave enough to triumph

Over your wicked ways

As you took away everything I had?

“Tick Tock”

Goes the clock.

The hour is at hand.

I can finally pack my bags and leave

This horrible ticking land.

But I have a riddle for you –

There are always ticks in a world of clocking,

Is there such a thing as a place with only tocking?
