Escape

August 26, 2013

Books, books and more books

Upon my little shelf,

Wondering if this could be good for my health

Thinking about a peaceful world

Where I can go to and escape.

But those books upon my shelf,

Shapes my little world...

Can I get out now?

NO!

Beyond these books, you see

My small computer waits for me

On my big desk,

The one thing that lets me succeed

That one thing I can get on and let my mind wander.

Where I can get on and escape the real world.

That computer on my desk,

Shapes my little world,

Can I get out now?

NO!

Beyond those books and my computer,

You turn around and see,

The pictures on my wall,

Some large, some small

Seeing my Family and Friends,

Remembering them would be my fall,

How I miss them all.

Seeing my life through these trophies and awards,

The ones that got for achieving and striving

The ones I got in high school long ago

How my parents seemed to know more

About how smart I really was,

About how smart I really am.

Everything that I did, shapes my world,

Can I just be a normal girl?

Can I get out of this world?

That only sees how smart I can be,

Not even for the nice girl on the inside?

NO!

Everyone needs confidence in his or her life,

Which is why,

You will see the poster

Of my role model on my closet door

It makes me wonder

How Taylor Swift could be so confident,

How she could sing so beautifully

And make the world go in awe.

But what makes me wonder,

What can I do to be wonderful?

Or beautifully talented?

Can I Escape through the poetry I write?

Do I never stop wondering if I will be all right?

Can I get out of what shapes my world now?

Is it too late to escape this world now?

The answer is right in front of you....

When it comes to me at the end of a day,

I look through the small mirror on my wall

I see someone else after all,

Someone wanting to escape,

Escape her fears and the real world....

Escape and enter in a world unknown.
