"Awaken"

January 7, 2018

Awake upon this garden

You who belies life and lives

For the wind in your hair

Sing upon this sunshine

You who decries truth and spies

Magic in the air

Golden opportunity mixed

With the pleasures of the day

Is all the worldly cost

Such infinity wasted

With the measures of the gray

Is a new holocaust

You keep that in mind

As you sit in this garden green

Except for the heresies of the mind

Lift your eyes from the page

Revel in this autumn scene

An escape from slumber you just might find
