Dry

April 14, 2017

The day you said "I don't feel we're right",

I felt as if the salts of all the universes oceans resided there

beneath my tongue,

brittle and parched sort of like a fish out of water,

I could breathe but it wouldn't have helped,

my lunges shared feeling with that of despair and solitary,

I had lost my oxygen, I no longer swam in an ocean of familiar creatures,

I was a stranger;

a stranger to the air I once depended on,

and to the love I seeked to define the vowel aspects of my womanhood.

That day your words broke through the depths of my mind

the depths for which I hid the things I didn't like about myself,

and there once again I found myself..

unstable.
