Today

April 11, 2014

Today, you realized that you were tired.

Tired of waiting for the boy who,

Who didn’t want the same things as you,

And who -right now - can’t love you like you love him

Today, you realized there was no balance.

That there was more give than take.

The way you look at him

Is not the same intensity that he looks at you

Today, you realized that the realization

Of you realizing this

Made your heart ache in a way

That it never has before this instance of time

Today, you realized you were worth more.

Today, you realized that

You will never be older, or younger

Than you are this very moment, ever again.

Today, you realized it hurts more than words can describe

Today, you realized that life goes on

Today, you realized that you will live through this

Today, you realized you deserve better.
