Drive

February 6, 2015
The drive remains the same

when I go home, take off my make up,

remove myself from the daily cares of this world

only my true self remains to sit and reflect

look into my eyes

the trace of liner is gone, the only "shadow" that can be seen is the one that I see dancing behind me

yet my eyes still look the same as they did before

because inside they have the same expression, the same drive

the drive inside remains the same

the drive to not be another percentage of "damaged goods"

the drive to not let my past affect my future

the drive to better myself

the drive to make it in this world

whether dressed for going out or dressed for staying in

the drive remains the same
