Marina is a chicana who lives in the East LA area. Although poetry has become a recent passion of hers, she values the emotion and deeper meaning in addition to the fun and creativity it brings to her life. She believes that speaking through the language of poetry acts as a gateway to a voice beyond a single understanding in a graceful yet empowering manner and hopes that her message can reach out to those who wish to be heard and validated.
