Immaculate Moment

January 8, 2014

I've come to understand God is of a young age

It's undeniable when he takes the stage

Carved of stone, hair spun of gold

Hands of angels and slate eyes ice cold

This God gets me flying high like white wine

Like a hand grenade and 50,000 butterflies

I want to be his immaculate moment

Instead of always smiling and waving my gun

I want to be his immaculate moment

If he thinks he can provide one

It's a story all day and I hope your words are worth my dimes

Just to hear you I'll spend all my time

To buy more time I'll buy you a drink

Buy back my minutes just to hear you think

I wish I could tell myself you're not there

But to deny the statue adorning my home seems unfair

I'm just a reaction of my own opinion to validate endless pain

But your reality leaves me dancing to come home again

The lie is you know you're of no thanks

Yet you know you're taking me by the jugular, flying up the ranks

And at one point when I'm almost not as I should feel

You'll look me in the eye and say I'm the real deal
