The Reason Why
And she waits for you to answer her
Alone in her room, where the dark meets the light
She is not afraid, and never will be
of you, of them, or of this
Because she has already ventured
far beyond your knowledge
She has already escaped from the
place that we would all call Home
And what she would call Hell.
She was never like you, or them
And yet she is sorry
Sorry for the way she acted
when you called her name
And she ignoored your call
Because she was distant
But more distant than you knew
Farther than you thought she was
More alone then you ever thought possible
But can you say for sure
That she was really your friend?
I mean, did you ever really know her?
Beyond the stained window glass that
you were looking through when you saw
Her reflection, and the angels pass by,
Did you see her smile?
Did you see the disguise?
She was not smart
She was not wise
She was alone in her suffering
And she is the reason why.
