The Stereotypes Broken

March 10, 2015

They call me a nerd because I take AP courses.

After school I attend ballet lessons.

They call me Goth because I wear black.

After school I sit in my pink room.

They call me popular because I cheer,

After school I sit alone.

They call me a bimbo because I'm blonde,

After school I work on my calculus homework.

They tell me I can not be a doctor because I am a women,

Today I'm in my cap and gown receiving my degree.

They tell me I'm messy because I'm a man,

There isn't one dirty dish in my sink.

They call me greedy because I'm Jewish,

I donate money to charity all the time.

They call me a rebel because I'm a teenager,

I attend church every Sunday.

Stereotypes hurt and aren't true,

The only one who can stop them is you.
