I've noticed

July 5, 2016

I’ve noticed that a great majority of my poems have been negative and sad

But what the fuck type of life did you expect with the one that I’ve had

My mother…

On drugs, I’m talking about that big type shit

PCP, Crack Cocaine, Weed there wasn’t anything that she wouldn’t hit

My father…

Dead

What the fuck did you expect?

A nigga who took care of his kids, had a stable job, didn’t get into trouble with the law, and looked out for his neck

Bitch, please. If you want some fairytale type shit then carry your white privileged ass out of here because what I’m preaching is real

My father was a fucking screw up

Like almost every other black father out here

He got involved in the street life

And I know almost every other motherfucker in this joint knows what I’m talking about

Money, Drugs, Bitches, Pussy, etc.

Dumbasses out here doing illegal shit to get money and end up dead when they could of gotten a job and earned it like a real man instead of leaving their children behind with a single parent to fend for them and herself

Negligent fathers out here selling and doing drugs instead of providing for their children and still ending up dead; either from the drugs or from the people who they got the drugs from but couldn’t pay back the money that they owed them

Hoeing ass niggas out here messing with these under-aged girls

Getting young girls pregnant left and right

Can’t afford child support but got the nerve to whine and bitch when those same girls take their asses to court

And don’t get me started on these dumb ass girls out here

Yes, young little ass girls out here who have no damn business in the streets around 11 o’clock at night

They’re as terrible as the men; bitching and whining about how some of them can’t find a “good man”

Shut the hell up and find yourself a good book

Pushing out six to seven kids when themselves are kids

Can barely take care of themselves but they’ll tell you they’re grown

Even though they’re still living with their parents

Young ass girls who don’t know the difference between a nigga and a successful black man

Niggas out here who think “ball is life”

Fuckers got enough money for the new iPhone six plus

But not enough money for college tuition

But that’s none of my business though

And that’s why most of my poems are either angry, sad, or both because what really grinds my gears is this generation. A generation who expects everything to be handed out to them on a silver platter rather than working for it themselves. A generation who are oblivious to the mistakes of their parents and who think that they can make the same mistakes in this day and age. But it doesn’t work like that because every year, every decade, every millennium is different and before you blame the government look at yourselves first. Before you spew that age old phrase of “white privilege” and “mental slavery” think about what is happening around you and take into consideration everyone else because not every white person has money, fancy cars, or a house. And not everything a white person does it racist. Maybe it’s you and what those old heads that lived through segregation put into your head; that every white person is out to get you but the truth is if you want to be successful you have to work for it.
