A Guardian of Light

March 14, 2025

A Guardian of Light

Traveling,

Marveling,

Lingering around the globe,

Wandering like Santiago in the Arab desert,

Seeking the cursed ego—

He sang his song, years ago

People came, wearing purple masks;

He never asked:

Who are you?

Why are you?

And never echoed their task

The bird in her chest leaps up,

Cupping the holy sip,

Sipping on a soaring ship,

Dipping, nurturing, lifting

A soul—a holy coal—flutters,

Facing and punching the cutters.

She flies like a butterfly,

Mute but brave, as she softly mutters.

A little angel clad in black robes,

She never deceives the mob.

Fickle hearts show their masks,

Yet her spirit never cracks

Learning from the laws of nature,

She remains cool and mature.

Smiling like Athena in a stormy haze,

She conceals her scars with grace.

Flying and blooming in the summer air,

Emerging rare, yet wondrously fair.

Reading Rumi, cherishing Clair,

Facing rustics, trusting crystal-clear.

Fatima—she plays for Santiago,

Reminding the world of a web from years ago.

Caring like Manolin, she remains in the flow,

Facing sharks, kissing Marlin with glow.

Strange creation, a friend to her foes,

A little light girl, where beauty flows.
