If you don't learn to write your own story, someone else will write it for you

435 poems·Since May 2014

I'm a Grad student now studying Biochemistry and Biophysics (not sure how I got there). I guess I've been using this site for nearly 8 years now though sometimes I went years without writing much of anything. I write what I feel and I write what I need to let go of. Sometimes I write about a dream or a nightmare I had, If I can tell the difference. I fell in love for poetry in high school and continued to write in college. I hope to publish a book someday as well (leave a comment if a poem speaks to you). P.S. My Instagram is @CottonCandyPoems

Internal Beauty

May 28, 2014

Many people may waste their lives caught in a landslide of endless lies. Throughout generations rumors have spread and while the rumor lives on the starters are dead. We have been fed a lie over hundreds of years and believed every word with our fragile ears. We truly believe that true beauty comes from a tube and all that is pretty are nicely carved boobs. Don't get me wrong you use plastic as well and dangerous perfumes to have a nice smell. You do all these things in hope you'll be loved but in the darkness of lies is where you'll be shoved. True beauty comes from within and only the kind hearted will win. So stop damaging the body you've been given and get a new life so you can start liven. I ask that these lies of true beauty end and the truth behind beauty will never bend. The internal fight will never subside but stop hiding behind makeup for there's no reason to hide. You are beautiful and you will strive to be internally beautiful and you will thrive.
