If you don't learn to write your own story, someone else will write it for you

435 poems·Since May 2014

I'm a Grad student now studying Biochemistry and Biophysics (not sure how I got there). I guess I've been using this site for nearly 8 years now though sometimes I went years without writing much of anything. I write what I feel and I write what I need to let go of. Sometimes I write about a dream or a nightmare I had, If I can tell the difference. I fell in love for poetry in high school and continued to write in college. I hope to publish a book someday as well (leave a comment if a poem speaks to you). P.S. My Instagram is @CottonCandyPoems

When you hear addicted your probably thinking drugs well what if I told you I'm addicted to hugs. Would you be disgusted or scared or simply inspired by someone who cared. If caring was a drug I'd be addicted just like my mother always predicted but if caring was a drug who would care the most is Jesus Christ who overdosed. He cared so much he died for me my love for him lasts eternally. I thank The Lord each night and day that I am blessed to live this way. If The Lord was a drug I couldn't hold back because life without him would be worthless and black, living all day with no reason to prey I don't even know what else to say. I'm addicted to god it's plain to see but The Lord is my savior be addicted with me.
