UNTITLED

June 6, 2016

The gracious earthworms are spreading over me

crawling over every surface and crevice of my body

as I lay in hibernation in the brown soil

The keeper of time digs and sets me free

yet, I cannot be grateful for his charity

the cold air cracks my freshly baked skin

As I attempt to move forward from my burial,

I remember the comfort the empty worms brought me

And how I feel, pulling on my weak heart, bounded

I am my own woman,

Or how I should feel,

Yet I am fearful

Nothingness;

Silence;

Hush;

Me;

.
